Once you've ordered your roll off dumpster, it's time to prepare for the delivery of the container. This guide will help you get your property ready for the drop off of your roll off bin. In general, there are 4 main steps:
Dumpster Delivery 101
Everything you need to know about roll-off dumpster delivery, including tips, guidelines, and steps.

What To Do Before Delivery Day
When you order your dumpster, we will ask where you would like your dumpster placed on your property or jobsite. Additionally, please send us a picture of this location. It is not required but helps to avoid any issues with delivery.
Clear out any obstacles in front of your desired dumpster drop-off spot. This includes cars, low-hanging branches or wires, and anything else that will be in the way of our roll-off trucks.
This step is also not required but can help avoid any mishaps with the delivery of the dumpster. You can mark the area you'd like the dumpster placed with a small flag outlining the corners of the area, or use chalk.
Before the dumpster arrives, please double-check the area to make sure it is still clear of obstacles. Our trucks will need a clearance space of 60 feet in front of the area, 23 feet above the area, and at least 10.5 feet wide of free space.
Preparing Your Driveway for Dumpster Delivery

1. Choose Location for Dumpster
Before your dumpster is delivered, pick a good area where the dumpster can be placed. Most homeowners choose either their driveway or their front yard. Please note that the average roll-off dumpster weighs between 3,750 and 6,500 pounds, so make sure to choose an area where the ground is flat, solid, and strong. A lot of homeowners will lay down plywood over their driveway to avoid any scratches or damage from the bin.
Let us know the location you've chosen when you place your order. We may also request you send in a picture of the area so we place the bin exactly where you want it to be. This also helps if you aren't planning to be home for the delivery.

2. Make Room for the Dumpster
Clear out any cars, bicycles, decorations, and any other objects that would block the roll off truck from accessing your desired drop-off location. If you park your cars in the garage and have the dumpster placed in your driveway, note that you might not be able to retrieve them until the dumpster is gone. Make sure to remove any low-hanging branches from the location as well.
Our trucks will need at least 60 feet of clearance space in front of the area to safely offload the box. There will also need to be at least 23 feet of clearance space above the location, and 10.5 feet of free space left to right.

3. Mark the Delivery Area
When you place your order, we will take detailed notes on where you want your dumpster on your property. However, marking the spot helps us make sure we deliver the bin to the exact area you want it. It is especially helpful if you will not be home for the dumpster's delivery.
To mark the area, you can outline where you want the dumpster placed with chalk, cones, or colored tape. You can even lay down plywood boards to define the spot (and also help protect the ground).

4. Double-Check the Area on Delivery Day
Do another screening of the drop-off area on the day of delivery. Any cars parked in the street near your driveway may also need to be moved so our trucks can back into your driveway without issue. If you have a gate or fence around your property, make sure you leave it open or let us know how to open it.
Remember that if the dumpster is not able to be delivered because of obstructions or inadequate space, you will be charged a trip fee for the inconvenience.
Preparing for Street Delivery

1. Follow Permitting Guidelines
If you plan to place your dumpster in the street, you may need to get a permit from your local municipality. You can reach out to your city's building department to see if you'll need to obtain a permit. You can also use our dumpster permit tool, just type in your location and we'll let you know if you need a permit in your area.
There may be a fee for a permit, and there might be additional guidelines for having your dumpster placed in the street. Make sure you follow all the rules in order to avoid getting a fine from the city.

2. Mark the Delivery Spot
Make sure to clear the spot in front of your home and the surrounding area. If there are cars parked within 60 feet of the area, you may need to move them or ask your neighbors to do so. Also, make sure there are no trash toters or obstructions nearby as well.
Preparing for Job Site Delivery

1. Choose An Accessible Area
If your container is going to a construction job site, choose an area that is away from all equipment, debris, and any other potential obstacles. If there is a gate or fence protecting the site, make sure the gate is open when our drivers arrive. If you have any placement restrictions or instructions, please let us know ahead of time so we can plan accordingly.
Remember...
1. You don't have to be home for the dumpster's delivery.
2. Send photos of the desired drop-off location beforehand.
3. Sign up for text alerts in the customer portal to get notifications about delivery.
4. If you plan to place the dumpster in the street, obtain a permit if necessary.
5. If we are not able to deliver a dumpster because of a lack of space or obstructions, we will charge a trip fee.
